Cancun's Amerimex Restaurant: Your Ultimate Tex-Mex Destination in Waxahachie

Really enjoyed our lunch here. The queso blanco was really flavorful, and the salsa was good. The homemade tortillas were a bonus!

First time at this restaurant and I actually loved it!!! My big brother brought me here for an early birthday breakfast. OMG, I had the chicken fried chicken w/ home style gravy, grits, French toast and soft scrambled eggs w/ coffee. My brother had Menudo. The smells coming through the door was a crime! Everyone in that kitchen should be at my house. The atmosphere was wonderful. Beautiful building inside and out. My waitress was wonderful. I will be back again. I give this review

Went on Friday around five and found a seat at the bar for my partners and I right away. Chips, salsa, shrimp and chicken fajitas, queso amarillo, Cancun Nachos, and the Mucho Gusto hard shell tacos were all delicious. The real star of the show was the patio bar and the bartenders for us. The space feels so warm and inviting, and I love all of the light coming through the roll up doors. They have a great selection of tequilas and other liquors, and there is a shelf with a few liquors for $2 shots for those looking to get a little toasty. My partners had bottled beer and Tito's and soda, and I ordered a pina colada in remeberance of my grandmother on her birthday, it was her favorite. Let me tell you, this pina colada was seriously one of the best I have ever had. I try them all across the country as I travel for work, even on the beach and places like Margaritaville, but Cancun's is superior in almost every way. The presentation was fantastic, makes you feel like you're somewhere tropical as soon as you take your first sip. It was almost too pretty to drink and by far the best one in Waxahachie. The sweet woman with the long dark hair working with Marco before shift change, (so sorry I didn't catch your name!) was so kind, and when she learned it was for my grandmother, she had a moment with us about it, gave us a cheers, then brought the rest of the leftovers and gave it to our party. She even wished my grandmother a happy birthday as she clocked out, and to me, that was just the cherry on top of a fabulous experience. I can't wait to go back, not only for the delicious food and drinks, but for the outstanding service and care shown by the bartenders. A May Zing! New fave place near us. Sizzling platter of Parrillada fajitas with everything is fantastic. The beef especially, which was half the meat on the platter, was seasoned & grilled perfectly, tender & tasted amazing. Mango tea was her “best drink I’ve ever had.” Generous portions, we took about 1 meal worth home.

Always Great food and the BEST Patron Margaritas in Ellis County! We eat at Cancun’s every week and there is nothing better! The Owner Emilio makes it a point to come around to the tables and Greet You and the staff are all Friendly and helpful! The service is always Top Notch!! We know most of the staff and they always Greet Us with a smile and a hug! We always feel at Home at Cancun’s!!

My husband & I were blown away by this restaurant. The atmosphere, the menu, the food, the drinks were AMAZING! DELICIOUS!!! We had breakfast but will definitely be going back to try lunch & dinner. Our waiter JUAN was the BEST! He made sure we were taking care of & had a smile each time he checked on us. The door hostess was very nice & helpful & made the experience delightful from the moment I stepped in the door. I'm so glad I found this place! Can't wait to sit on the beautiful patio by the water with a margarita!

Gorgeous patio!!!! Feels like you really are in Cancun! The food and service are amazing. They have really big portions here and the service is top notch. It was a great choice to celebrate my son's school awards. I really want to come back during the evening to sit on that patio overlooking a pond with fountain and kick back some margaritas. We came back for breakfast and it was just as good as the lunch/dinner menu. The grits were amazing and the french toast was huge! Will def be back!

Very popular place to eat! It's a great family gathering place to dine in. The wait time for 4 ppl they told us was 20 min. But it actually took 5 min. Our waitress was busy with a lot of orders! My parents always use to come here before they past away! Keeping the tradition!
